yea man agreed . i was under the idea that the sp1200 could be played without any quantize .. n that mpc's all had a snap to en even without quantize being fully implemented

i make beats mainly using a loop pedal as the 'sequencer' .. to me thats what alot of Doom's beats sound like

anyhow . discussion is always good to uncover missing info 8)

the 1200 will record without quantize but it is naturally quantized by the hardware's limitations.

i do this all the time on my 303, even though it has a sequencer that can quantize, you can ignore the metronome altogether (turn it off) and just make a pattern in whatever way you want, and switch to another pattern that is on beat, you know?
