I played bass in a grindcore band called Circle of Dead Children for many years. All our recordings are lofi-ish and diy. I did a lot of noise tracks as well on the albums and during live sets.

husker du were great, Zen Arcade fantastic album, a masterpiece
another one was Minutemen, they were more funk jazz+punk, same period,same label

Minutemen hell yes...!!!

Probably not so appropriate in terms of this thread, but fIREHOSE, that emerged from the ashes of Minutemen are also a fucking amazing band. "Ragin', full on" is a sick slab of vinyl.
