word, i usually think of a microwave beat as something done in a short amount of time, with a limited amount of gear, with little to no post-production
the sketch analogy is a good one;
a micro beat is probably gonna skip a long, drawn out intro/outro or a detailed bridge/chorus
and focus more on the main groove of the beat
