Thanks man.I was stoked to be on that thing...some of the other peeps on there are like the reason i got into using an SP at all.
Yeah, they are all pretty good... i'd like to try and submit something for that next time. I'm still trying to learn more techniques using the SP 303, so i'm really going to be digging in the threads on this site this weekend....I have class today blah.
used to be at MPC forums when i had a 2kxl. pretty wack although pretty much cut my teeth on beatmaking with their weekly battles.
it was full of a lot of much older cats who were still caught up with rack gear and didn't really fuck with newer/experimental shit, mainly new jazz and old school hip-hop. dudes had more of an inclination to study and criticize a simple beat rather than see if they can bob their heads to it.
Some of you know me on the mpc-forums as distortedtekno. I've been there over 10 years and learned quite a bit, even though I started making beats 20 years ago. My first drum machine was a Boss DR-550mkII, and I've gone through tons of gear since then. I got to know a lot of cool cats on the forums that are into all kinds of gear, made some friends and exchanged a lot of valuable info. This place got a similar vibe to it since it was started by members of the mpc-forums.
