RE: Deadlines - I was trying to be all strict with the rules n shit but I could push it it to the end of the 15th if people need the extra day... Sunday night makes more sense anyways as being more of a weekend warrior myself it's hard to get solid time in to make a beat during the week... I'll see if anyone needs more time on Saturday before I throw the poll up.

Also I think I put too many samples up there... I'm actually having a hard time choosing which route to go down myself on this round lol!

Still: Great entries so far!

o yes too many samples but so good too
i enter the arena with this
https://soundcloud.com/lo_fist/spaze-pyratez

edit: all is done by resampling the given material in the 4o4sX including pitch and filterbass then adding moviequotes and more resampling. tried to make it sound better in ableton and played around with VSTs but didnt get a good result so kept it SP

FreshSerf, damn, you know I thought I was gonna be able to get my work in before deadline but now would REALLY appreciate if we could take up your offer of another 12 or 24 hrs... I got something on slow-cook here and don't wanna miss this one.. if that's okay with the fam..?

finished just on time !! one of the battles I enjoyed the most and I the less time to cook it!! really cool choice ! I went for sun-ra and all in the box with A LOT of resampling !!

Done! Unless anyone seriously objects, deadline has been extended to tomorrow 11:59pm March 15th - I encourage all to submit who haven't yet done so!

after posting mine I saw a remix contest for a song I'd recently heard and liked. It happened to be near the same tempo and ended up blending surprisingly well. https://soundcloud.com/chopperman/musa- ... rman-remix

i also lucked out with the drums on mine. after chopping them into 11 pads, the loop that i used was the 2nd take of the 1st pattern i tried, which was random unless there was some subconscious or supernatural shit going on. I usually add effects to each drum individually but this time i played them first. If i remember correct, i used filter, reverb, vinyl sim, and delay. Then isolator, filter and delay on the Sun Ra chops, recorded one by one for the most part.
