I just picked up Tab Jones Dusted cassette.

It's got a lot of Wu-Tang in it. Which I dig.

"Oh, and don't forget about all the classic rap tapes floating around for cheap on ebay or at the thrift store. In a box filled with sermons and Richard clayderman tapes at a Christian ministries thrift shop, I found the first leaders of the new school album and lifestyles of the poor and dangerous by big l on cassette. Definitely worth getting the fingers dusty for!"

I went to Hope Outlet in town (Christian Ministry non-profit) and found ODB's Return to the 36 Chambers, 3rd Bass- The Cactus Album, and and Eric B and Rakim single all on cassettes..

Yeah, thrift stores are ill. I found The Winstons - Amen Brother 45 at Salvation Army a couple weeks ago. Snagged it for 99 cents.

I wasn't really feeling that tape. I liked a couple of tracks on it. But nothing stood out as good enough to buy it.
I heard Apollo's got a collab going down with Rass Kass.

I love you guys!
Seriously, I've not really touched tapes for decades but I've been watching this movement. It's good stuff. I'm thinking of getting in and trying to make a few myself.

Haha, i thought i was the only one to have it on multiple formats. i got the lp first, but then realized it didnt contain the full album. it did come with a nice 45, though. The mellow music label is a completist's worst nightmare.

That collab with Rass Kass should be good. The OC one was, so was the brown tape with ghostface. no nonsense beats and rhymes from a proven vet seems to be the formula.

Also, since this thread was started i got the Deep Crates "Crate Rebellion" cassette in the mail, and that is worth copping for sure.

I've never heard of Ill The Essence nor that c slash label.
But that's a dope tape.
I like the ol' timey music with trashy drums.
Sounds like alot of samples off dollar bin records.
I have a bunch of those.
Got 3 sitting next to my turntable right now.
Listened to them before I bought them and liked the bass in the background.
Trying to work the resample on SampleTrak to lo pass filter out the "Sha-la-la-la-lagh" singing.

Thanks for the heads up on that tape, hseiken. I had some ebay funds burning a hole in my paypal pocket.

Yeah, that Dig Dug label is pretty sweet.
I like the artwork on the cassettes. And how all the releases have a sort of cohesive color pallette.
I liked a merch deal they had where you could buy a couple tapes and they packaged with it a old school walkman.
Definitely a uniqe camp.

Word! I'm a hold you to that.
I don't have Dusty Planets in my collection because I hate CDs and I don't buy digital files. I like hard copies. Wax or cassette.

LP as in a record? I didn't know he had anything new out.
I haven't seen any releases of false tropics since last year.
I'm following him on Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
And he buys damn near every cassette that comes out on Bandcamp. I see his icon in the collection thing.
So I know he's got plenty of inspiration for making music.
