SP-555 vs. MPC1000 (or just any MPC for that matter)

555 vs. MPC
Years back I had an MPC 3000 and loved it (it was stolen from me), and since I've been moving towards software sequencing. Since I use computers all day for work, and also all night for music, I've been starting to get carpal tunnel -- which promted the desire to get a drum machine / sequencer.
I looked intently at both the SP-555 and the MPC. I do house/dance music and we all know the MPC is legendary for hip hop, and the 555 seems to lend itself to my style. However I wanted to have that MPC feel - which is the real deal.
Given I couldn't decide I got both (Was able to get deals on both of them so it made it easier). I have had them both for a few days and have to say that the MPC definitely has awesome swing. The simplest 4/4 just rocks on it. Excellent and brings me back to the old days remembering my 3000.
The SP-555 is just F'ing cool. It also sounds great, does a whole of things that the 1000 doesn't. Yes the limitation is the screen, and honestly Roland's logic is not so straight forward. Recording a pattern is quite convoluted, so many different buttons to set up to get it to go - but i think it's just the learning curve.
I am not sure I am helping anyone with this posting, but will say that they both are good for different reasons. It really depends on what you're going for, what your budget is, etc.
