yeah exactly Im just going to be using the 404 as my eq in between and for effects in between. I might also just keep all my drums on the 404 so it will be like my library of drums with eq and everything and I can just trigger them from the mpc. And use the mpc for sample chopping.
Also Ive heard that the drums dont clip as easily on the 404 so you can get them to hit a little louder without distorting. Is this true?
Also what do you guys think about the Presonus Firebox? Im looking to get one. I got the Mbox 2 but Im selling it because it just sounds like shit when I record into pro tools. The drums lose a lot of punch. So I heard the Firebox was supposed to be pretty good.
Does anybody know if the Instrument\Mic gain knobs on the front of the Firebox control the line inputs on the back? Or do they just control the mic input?
