I got it mostly because I'm on the road all the time and it's really hard to give up clothes space to stuff like ESX and 404...this thing is the size of a 8 1/2x11 piece of paper folded in half. And I don't need my US122 to record live audio with it because it can record itself live internally...so that saves a LOT of space in my suitcase (and saves my gear from getting more damaged than it already has from luggage tossers at the airport...my ESX and 404 both now have scars!)

that's very interesting for me.
when i'm on airport they tend to makes me turn on all the thing (mostly the pc) but somtimes also the sampler/drum machines: once i was forced to tunr on a roland D2+an sp505+a yamaha qy70 at the same time...and the f*****g pc too...so the policeman tell me:"who are you? a famous dj?" and i said "i'm the cousin of Armand Van Helden".

bass is a synth from 909
some stutter/mod fx were done with kp3/2

Created a weird pad thingy out of part of the original sample. All sample edits and song done in OP1. Added a bit of synthetic dirt using FerricTDC and Toneboosters something or another bit crusher and A/D aliasing VSTs.

Edit: Also, I added a little sinewave solo (also OP1) since it was allowed this time around.

EDIT AGAIN: I also forgot, I used a Panasonic tape recorder from the 70's to put provided samples on tape then used a shitty no-name LENOXX walkman to play it back for sampling. Tape is a Maxell "UltraDynamic" C90. Origins and year of manufacture for both walkman and cassette are unknown.

i used the roland sp555 to cut and process the samples given for this battle. i also used it to sequence the edits into place. after coming up with a few basic patterns, i loaded the original samples into various computer programs (reason3 and sapling). using the sp555 to control reason, i jammed and recorded everything in one go. this is the result. so far, everyone's tune is awesome, hopefully folks'll get as much grooving as i did from everyone else's tracks

Here's mine. I even left in the little tape hiss over the kick, lol. All SP-404.

Ableton and 555 bouncing back and forth. First time trying this had fun. Another headphone mix (surround sound died)
