Hey gang,

I'm rather new to the site, so I'll give you as much information as possible.

I was just curious what you all consider the best method as far as importing the .wav files to some software. I'm most familiar with FL Studio, so I try to stick that out. But I run into problems frequently and get frustrated. I'm basically looking to import some samples and layer in some drums with those samples. I'm also looking to chop imported samples with the software. Any input would be great - what do you use? Thanks in advance.

I'm really curious to hear what you all have to say. I used the search and didn't come up with much of anything. I've heard of audacity being used but I'm not very familiar with that program. Maybe my search is too broad? If anyone can direct me to a thread that would help as well, thanks in advance.

I use Audacity to record stuff I've made from my Sp-505. I make a wave and then load that into Acid Pro to eq and compress.

Audacity is extremely easy to use and you could record a bunch of samples into your computer and then do what you want with them in fl or any other program.

Thanks for your response. Can you record into Audacity or do you just import the wav files from the SP?

And is Acid Pro free? Never used it.

When my samples are in my 404 and I have them all set the way that I want them I load them onto a memory card and import them into my computer... you don't need any software to do that...

once the samples are on your computer you can open them in a software app... what you use all depends on your personal preference.. you should demo some of the software and make a decision based on that

a lot of people use Ableton Live, Acid, NI Maschine... I don't really like any of those programs I use Reason but that isn't to say Reason will work best for you
