SP808 to EX upgrade over MIDI - DONE IT!!

Found a link to the Yahoo SP-808USERS group and they've got a working version of the EX upgrade file on there. Go to the Files folder, ignore the OSUPDATES folder and go straight to SP808EXv1001forSP808.zip.

I loaded the files from that into SMFPLAYR instead of the versions downloaded from the Roland sites and it worked a treat. One thing to note - in the accompanying IMPORTANTNOTES text file it says....
"This update will work with your existing 100Mb Zip Drive or can easily be updated to the 250mb Zip Drive. It is reccomended that you do not full format or full cleanup your 100mb disks with the new operating system. It will make your disk unreadable. This is the only flaw we have found in the update."

I've since dumped the new O/S to zip, restored the old one from zip and then re-restored the new one from zip.
