Once, i stupidly dumped a bag of shwag (sticks and seeds included) into a coffee grinder and then rolled that up into a philly and smoked the whole thing. WORST headache i've ever had.

When I worked at Chili's in KC about 10 years ago this mexican cat-I was the only legal dude working in the kitchen,lol-(actually it was really fucked up to see these guys exploited,working for little more than half of a normal wage) asked me if I wanted to buy 2 pounds of molta.2 pounds? You kidding me, I can barely afford to buy an ounce every other week or 2. Then he's like "200 dollars!" I'm thinking,bullshit,this can't be any fucking good,but I told him I'd check it out. Long story short I ended up with a brown paper grocery bag filled with average quality shake. 2 POUNDS. 200 BUCKS. I & anyone around me was blown off that shit all day everyday for a good 3/4 months-kept it sealed tight with a couple orange or lemon peels in it,and it stayed "fresh" as the day I got it.

Ha. That is a great story...200 bucks ahhaha he musta robbed someone. Once in college, my roommate grabbed 7 pounds of schwag at a great price and could only move 2 pounds, it was pretty shitty...so he was/we were stuck with 5 pounds of awful schwag...I think I threw some of that shit away when I moved out of town years later

I'm kinda confused as to what ya'll consider to be schwag- I mean for kids in certain communities and economic status, it's not really possible as a highschooler/late teen/early twenties/college student/whatever to always be able to smoke some high times magazine kind bud. Coming up,me & all my people smoked and sold what I guess would be considered schwag by some- dark green,compressed into bricks/layers,a little sticky,with a little bit of stems and seeds left for each blunt/joint rolled. No offense to anyone-but to us-that lime green kind was that rich "white boy" shit,lol. I realize we're in a different day and age than the 90's,early 00's- and I'm somewhat removed from weed culture nowadays.but theres gotta be some good quality average,regular weed still out there,I know there is in the hoods & lower income communities. I never even hit a bowl or a bong till my mid-twenties,I remember rolling a blunt at this kids house I worked with and he was blown away,like "you filled that WHOLE thing with weed?"haha...dude felt obligated to give me some quarter inch cables(he was a techno producer) cause apparently his mind was blown. I mean you can't even roll a blunt with this mad expensive nug shit,you're whole bag'll be gone. And just cause some herb isn't a magical flourescent green rainbow haired mutant strain grown in a hippie rich hydrophonic aqua marine greenhouse doesn't mean it can't be some good herb. Guess I'm just kinda confused about some peoples deffinitions of good weed... we all come from different cultures.

Nah I know what you mean -- but there are a few factors at play.

I'm an old head like you, not quite as old I guess but I'm north of 30 -- in general when we were young bucks smokin weed there wasn't good weed available. I def spent the first few years of my weed smokin experience burnin down mexican brick type ish.

Nowadays tho the new schwag is mids and kind buds are much more readily available. That is b/c growing and distributing weed is more of an industry than ever and also the quality of the weed and techniques of the people growing it domestically is wayyyy better than anything imported in bricks. So the result is all markets, even low income areas, you will see much better weed on average then you did say 15 years ago....

I know a lot of people that live in "the hood" in various areas of Philly and pretty much every one round those parts smokin the kush and the diesel, and the cheap shit is what you would really call mids...at least in my experience. Similar change has occured in Florida from what I can tell when I go home, just chronic everywhere

I understand this,to a certain extent-But I'm not just talking 15 years ago or even ten,or 5 for that matter-some cats don't WANT to smoke anything more than some average bud-they'd rather buy a fat ass dime or dub & have something to smoke on for a couple-few days. A lot of heads were raised on this type of herb..I mean even DR. Nostrand was talking about 50 an 8th. In a lot of places you can still get some nice shit for 20 an 8th,etc,or a nice dime you can get two blunts/3 joints out of,and that's never gonna change.And it's not "mexican dirt weed".

I guess it's just that the good shit is more readily available all over the place, so lots of people spring for the extra cash...I think a smaller amount of better bud is actually better and lasts longer than lower quality b/c the high you get is real satisfying and lasts, but I didn't know that til I smoked it

Now in Barbados...holy shit they don't even know what mids are down there, all they got is strait brick brown ass shit -- I have been there many times over the years and I can never find anything that gets me high for longer than 5 mins

its funny cause i got the opposite end of the spectrum, i'm from out in the woods, where everybody is syked on there trucks or whatever, and growin up we always had the mids available for us, still do, anywhere from 15 to 25 an 8th, and it can definitely be tolerable, i smoked that shit for years and loved it, and i know plenty of people, from kids to redneck ass adults, who still smoke that shit regularly, i'm totally spoiled right now gettin this dope ass weed from my buddy, and when it runs out, and i can't find anything else, you know i'm grabbin a 40 dollar quarter of some mids and gettin blunted like woah, i also am not hangin with as many homies as back in the day on a daily basis, so not only is a blunt expensive as shit to roll of this good shit, its also way to much weed for me to be smokin to my head, but my buddy was in town last week and we rolled out to this party and a bar, and on the way home grabbed a dutch and got down like usual, nothin like cruisin a dutch at night blastin tunes

i think the main gripe is the quality of the mids, sometimes its that nasty ass shit, but sometimes its totally tolerable, as my drug dealer from back in the day liked to put it, "i got some real good mids, its nice and green, and i only found like 2 seeds in a 8th" (obvious lie), and when its solid everybody was happy, and when it was a gross batch nobody was tryin to call the dude to pick up, but instead tryin everybody else to see if they had another connect
