I've never ben a huge Lil' Kim fan, but damn I just heard this new joint "Black Friday" & she rips Nikki Manaj to pieces, lol. From the minute I first saw Manaj I was wondering if she was trying to mimmick Kim in a mocking way, or just biting her look. Shit's dope though, I'm tired of Young Money acting like they're breaking ground & invented one liners or some shit-- and this is pretty relevent in the hip hop world--all these main stream acts have studied all he greats, and a lot of young people that listen to radio rap think metaphores & similies are some new form of lyricism-why so many actually believe lil wayne is the best ever.. Check it though, I'm about to google it and try to find a link.

Beat's raw as fuck too- The samples on the tip of my brain, can't quite place it-pharoe monch? Anyway, she disses the whole young money camp, and her vocal impression of this chick is pretty hillarious.

Also (I got on deman music choice on right now, lol) this 9th wonder/ david banner joint just came on "Be with you"- feat. Ludacris..Luda on 9th? If anyone questions whether or not this cat is a true m.c., check it.

Yeah thats that Pharohe Monch Simon Says. I dunno I don't care for the chick like I wouldn't buy her CD or even download it or anything, but from what I've heard of her (looking over people's shoulders while they surf Nah Right and all those other sites) Nicki is the only rapper out there on the commercial level that is doing something different, as in different then what her peers are doing, and I have to rate her for that. I know her whole steez is not original, she's like Lil Kim and 90's era Busta's love child, but I have to say it's a lot more interesting that what else is out there for the commercial crowd now.

With all that being said, I must admit I didn't care enough get through the whole song. I don't think this is a good look for kim, it's kind of embarrassing, but whatever. If she likes it, I love it.

I hear you to a certain extent-and not that lil' kim battles are important to me in the least..BUT-lol-she RIPPED her, it's just entertaining...this nikki chick may be somewhat original-but at the same time it's completely contrived and a formula-and definitely pop rap-& these young money kids need some ego checks. Kim came on a beat minaj could never even sound right on, and spit 4 straight minutes of better rhymes than she ever could as well, plus flipped minajes own style with ease. Far from embarrassing I think, when the girl was on her first video doing a straight up 'lil kim impersonation. I could do without the gun talk, but that's just the school she was raised in, and where she comes from. Kim's from the projects, not the burbs like minaj and drake. Look at me analyzing this shit, I got too much time on my hands.
".. your whole teams a bunch of weirdo's-you's an airhead bitch-scarecrow.."lol.

lol I feel just as silly as you for trying to decipher this foolishness  , but Nicki isn't from the burbs. If you ask me she's the only one doing anything of sense in young money. She's from Trinidad and she moved to Queens when she was little. Her dad ended up becoming a crackhead and I'm sure you can imagine what growing up in that was like. I saw that documentary thing on her a few weeks ago and although she is a little pop tart, the girl is serious about her job. The way it seems from what I gathered is like she's selling the whole "Nicki Minaj" experience, but when it comes down to it, she is just a regular person trying to get money and secure ish for her family. When I compare that to people like drake and whoever else in young money and their whole, "I'm a star" kind of mentality... like from what I've seen anyway, she understands her target market and is trying to hustle everything out that she can before her time is up. drake on the other hand is walking around like he really is something special and revolutionary that will never fade.

I've come to accept commercialism as what it is, and something that will never die but, I don't like what I generally hear there so I choose not to partake in it. Sure there were times when commercial didn't = sucky, but I dunno, I don't think things will ever be that way again or if they are it will just be on a case by case basis. On that note, I don't really want to argue down the morality in her "taking advantage of the masses" to get a cheque, but I do have to say she seems to be more grounded and have more brain cells than the average rapper I see on my TV set now adays. Plus she makes pretty lipstick shades at Mac lol. That alone does more for me than most commercial rappers.

I stand corrected, for some reason i assumed she had the same type of backround as Drake. Still, when i heard that kim shit it was the first time I've really laughed in a couple days, and even though it was a chick i normally despise, for some reason i felt a sense of being proud for someone from the golden era generation taking it to her like that in such an ill way. Pretty shades of lipstick, lol. It's nice to have a discussion with varrying opinions that doesn't escalate into sarcastic cheapshots from insecure dudes trying to assert their alpha maleness.

cosign mechalove.

i'm way out of the loop, don't watch mtv listen to commercial radio (i have sirius) don't watch much tv, i didn't know nicki manaj from a large hole in the ground. last week i heard "roman's revenge" on sirius and i was like 'oh shit who is this?' i thought she fuckin killed it. then i google her and she's this big thing... in a way i was glad i could be objective, because i would've listened differently for sure if I would've known all the bullshit..i would've been way more likely to hate on her

and im very critical of biters, but everybody's biting to a certain extent...i get it but i gotta say from what i've heard i think she's pretty dope.

Haven't been online since I last posted- but yea Mecha, I know... why I made the alpha male comment. I wasn't lol-ing in a sarcastic way.Ted- I definitely think the girl's got some talent, I just thought kim ripped her and it was funny and pretty dope, espescially with her spitting on the simon says beat.
