resampled tracks

Post by HighInTheSky »

Does anyone make tracks by solely resamplingvwithout use of the sequencer? Is the end result dirt because of the sound degradation? I was using a 303 and learning resampling and I like that flow.

I do my tracks by resampling. I find the pattern sequencer limiting. I just layer on resampling. no quantize.

It sounds fine, i usually record the final onto the 404 then back into the 303 using vinyl sim to melt the drums into the track.

I used to make 1 minute tracks on the SP303 by resampling. Then sample the 303 to my MPC (before the EXM128 upgrade) and just drop it into the computer as is, no MPC editing. You cant resample a loop or 2 to one pad and have them loop for 8 bars or whatever...just doesn't work. Something about the SP that just wont let you do anything that is similar to multi tracking. Everything need to be triggered, played by hand like an instrument.

I use the 404, but yeah.. I like the resampling way of working.. except when I'm too loose to play in time
