Sample import/ export

I have a question regarding transfer of samples from PC to the 808.
I use windows 7/ XP bootcamp with rolands 187k software running in 98 compatibility mode. In the past I have used 98 and XP.
When transferring multiple files the zip usb seems to overload and falter.
Is this related to NTFS mode compared to the original FAT 32 system ?
Would love to hear others experiences and techniques as transfer problems limits its usefulness to me and are very frustrating.
