I want a simple sampler-type voice strcture like sample->filter->amp, with envelopes and LFOs. And direct chromatic pitch, but that as an effect type would help a whole lot already. And crossfade looping. And backwards/pingpong looping. And an at least 8-track sequencer with NON-DESTRUCTIBLE quantise. And and and :D

jnoblez, ella: You do realise though that BOSS always was, is and always will be a 100% Roland daughter? With the same engineers? The only difference between Roland and BOSS products is marketing, and what market niche they think they can sell the stuff best in.

yes lone, but i never got troubles with Boss products (sp303, sp505, dr202, sp202, dr660, metalizer pedal fx, phaser pedal fx etc) and ever with roland products (sp404, sp606, D2)...allow me please to be a little superstitious! :)

"multi-mark chopping" has also been on my mind for quite some time. i love the way youre able to set your start and end points by hitting mark on the sp-404 but i really miss it on the sp-606. i like this much better than having to look at a screen to chop.

if they are gonna put a screen on it like on the 606, make sure it's a quality one and not one that sometimes turns black or displays random lines.

i would love to see a better integration with the computer (especially mac). maybe get some inspiration from native instruments' maschine. i would like to be able to use the unit as a stand alone groovebox without a computer. but when i connect it to my computer i would like to be able to use it as a plugin within my DAW. this way you have full flexibility. it also makes mixing and making backups a little easier ( if you can drag and drop your audio and midi files ).

lastly i would suggest roland shouldn't be bitchy and just incorporate their variphrase technology. i can't think of any other manufacturer who incorporated this technology in their products (hardware or software). these are the kind of features that might make people who are about to turn software, think twice.

try with the Olby videos but im not sure if he shows also this. in the 505 manual this is well explained. but dont't think at an exact sp303/404 "mark button" way, it's more "studio" conceived.

Thats the cool part of the 505, I would auto chop a sample then adjust the points myself to my specifications. It kind of works like the MV really.
