I gotta say that OP-1 looks mindblowing.
But like many here I want a new sampler :x

yeah new samplers are needed, just to keep the waters from getting stale. technology is at a point where we could have super-portable lo-fi samplers. like a shrunken touch screen sampletrak would be dope. i mean... there are fucking projectors built into phones now :? it seems like every other piece of technology gets updates every month

yeah it's really sad...

The worst thing is that instead of releasing some really dope machine which could be a real breakthrough in terms of capabilities ( like I dunno, mix of sp-404, mpc 2kxl and vs-1680 combined in just one, small box ), the companies are feeding us with little upgrades each year.

We all know why they are doing $o :(
..

It's sad that everything now is "revolving" around this $hit.
Long time ago, when there was a lot of unwritten laws and people lived by them, everyone wanted their own manufactured product to be the best out there... That of course was connected with profit$, but at the very beginning of production - there was only one goal - to be the best and most innovative. Not to be the riche$t

But those times are gone. When a law is unwritten - it DOES mean nothing. Cream 100%. The only thing Im waiting for now, actually is not a sampler. It's not even any another music gear. It's something like apocalypse//2012// which gonna totally clean up the world from the poisonous values which "conquered" most people's minds by simple "cleaning up" most of the human race.

sorry for the offtop, but I just needed to throw it out - I really mean it lately..

I feel you El, things done change. I remember when music was for the people, now its just for profit and who can sell the most. Sucks donkey balls but we gotta keep doing what we love and fight for that hard. But thats another thread.

Things I hoped for to see at NAMM but was dashed:

MC 1000

SP 707 or SP 656

And a compact MV for today's economy.

I felt like at a resturant ordering steak and homestyle fries and all they served me was a slice of ham with hair and pebbles on top with a big glass of flat soda :x

i know it does a lot more than that, but the OP-1 is a super portable sampler...

game over son!

and on top of the tape loops it has 3 different sequencers built into it. I don't know if this has been discussed here before or not, but one of the dudes working on the OP-1 was one of the lead designers for the Elektron monomachine and Machinedrum, and the dude who created LSDJ is also on the team working on it!

I don't know about you guys but my pennies are officially being saved.

Dave smith disappoints with the mopho keyboard wanted a tetra keyboard, I already have lil phatty so dont need that.

I think a lot of people feel that way, but from what I hear the mopho keyboard will be around $7-800 and the tetra is about the same. A little phatty is like 12-1300 new. so if you poly chain a tetra to a mopho keyboard you get a 5 voice analog for just a few hundred more than little phatty...I know it's not as elegant as having it all in one synth, but it is kinda cool that you could but one at a time instead of having to drop all of the loot at once...I wish the mono evolver keyboard/poly evolver rack combo was at that price point and size!

yeah... tetr4 + mopho keyboard ..still cheap.

I'd be more interested in a poly evolver if i already had a lil phatty.. hybrid/diff character rather than another analogue.

I'd agree with that, but i'd take a poly evolver over almost any modern analogue(excluding modular)!

it really looks like a wrong version of korg nanokey, but it does things...
no midi supported however, i think is to be working mainly with pc...
the "recorder-like" main function is cool. plus the key (with filters etc) too.
has it battery support?

I'm pretty sure it has a built in rechargeable battery.

Hell ya, Polyevolver is just so damn expensive. Problem with buying a mopho and a tetra, is I at least wish the mopho was as big as the evolver keyboard, and at that price I would rather dish out the extra dough for a polyevolver or prophet 08. Damn sure wish I could get a monoevolver and a poly rack. Might jsut have to hold out and save a little extra for that poly evolver though.
