Yessir. Same feeling over here, I have an mpc 2kxl as well but the 404 is more challenging due to its limitations, I guess that requires more imagination from the operator.

^yeah and also it's probably due to the ease of use and effects you know just resampling over and over...plus everything is right at your fingertips, no loading.

Except when you need to copy :-( wtf where thet think for not implementing a copy function for samples and patterns. this + resampling of sequences would make the 404 a killer box.

The reason why i personally feel so creative on the 404 is because of the simplicity of just turning the on switch and having all my samples and editing tools at a touch a button.

In addition, i find the workflow of an mpc tends to be abit formulated. Just look at all those beatmaking videos! Its all "Record loop -> chop loop -> sequence chops -> add drums -> add overdubs...etc...). The fact that it's harder to do that on a 404 is probably more of an advantage that ultimately results in a more original final piece of music that took some risks to get to its final stage of production..

Do you guys that use the MPCs find that the 404 has a bit of a beefer sound ? I used to have a 2k and I had 303 and I liked the sound of my 303 alot more.
