Yep... but didn't got those yet... the pads are actually just a rubber mat .. i dunno how to say... it's lworking like a tv-remote controle. there are 3 mats (?!?!)... fx section, pattern section and the pads 1-sub pad. ...so no single pads...
i'm not sure if the 303 has 3 of those... anyway it'S not possible to take the 303 ones cause you only got 2 lines of pads. sorry for the crappy english...*still boozed* I'm not sure if the sx pads are better... my eyes say possibly maybe but my understanding of roland says
...so actually it would be really easy to get a better feel on the pads by simply using a better material... maybe cork or sth. *hmm cork*

i'm gonna make a "replace your pads" vid when the time is up...

though there is one tricky part... the 404 got like two "mainboards" which are connected by some kinda "IDE" wire which I couldn't get off... so it may look a bit strange handling the inside...

I think I'm going to use my old ones until they really suck.
I'll update this thread when, I'm doing the change.
Maybe I just don't remember right, but I thought the 404 had 3 of those mats under the hood. :?

404 pad replacement

1. Pull off the 4 CTRL knobs.

2. Lift the 6 screws on the bottom
Now you can take off the bottom piece, but be careful cause the batterie-pack is still connected with the board.

3. Lift the 2 screws in the top.
As you can see, there are 2 boards, take the small one to the side.

4. Lift the 5 screws.
