Hey is anyone here using the SP-555 with ableton live as an external effects unit.
So have a sample in ableton > send it to the Sp-555 > then back to record in Ableton.

Can someone please suggest the best way to configure this in Ableton, I would like to make it easy as possible to add effects to single tracks and/or to a master channel so I can effect groups or the whole mix.

Any suggestions would be great.

the EASIEST way is to just leave it as is

open up a new track, solo the drum channel for instance, and record into that new track, the audio runs out and back in

otherwise youll need a separate soundcard. if you do have you check out "external FX device" and it will ask you to select the out put and input for it and then it will act like any other effects device...I believe..

.it works better if your soundcard has multiple outs like 1/2 3/4 5/6 but you should be able to use just the USB in conjunction with your other soundcard.

Thanks man. I had already figured most of it out. Im using that external Fx on a return track... makes it easy so I can just send any to the 1 channel I want to effect then from the return track to a audio track. Sussed.

Now - I am trying to connect my microkorg XL to my SP-555 with midi. My Sp-555 is going into my computer with USB.. can I use the midi in at the back of the Sp-555 and connect it to the midi out on my Microkorg xl and use the Microkorg XL as a midi controller? I thought it would be easy to pass the midi thru the sp-555

Hey does anyone actually use the Sp-555 as a control surface for Ableton Live? I would like to trigger stuff just using the Sp-555 and most of all I would somehow like to sync them so the tempos are locked for when I make loops on the SP-555. Is that possible... suure it is somehow?
