TIME/BPM

Post by CΨβΘRG ΣΘΣ »

Hey,
Just started using an SP303 today. Did my first 303 Beat.
This tool is really easy to use and great but Time strectch seems really awfull.
Is there any way to make stretched samples sound good ?

Peace

The general rule is that you can speed up a sample like 20-30bpm easily, but if you slow it down with the time stretch even 1bpm it can sound strange.
So let's say you have a sample that's 140bpm but your sequence of drums is at 90bpms, rather than try to slow the sample by 50bpm and make it unrecognizable I would use cntrl knob 2 while the time/bpm button is pressed to halve the tempo to 70bpm, then use cntrl knob 1 stretch it up to 90bpm. Now your sample matches your pattern sequence and it still sounds close to the original source.

hi
yes , normally you can do that while pushing DEL and the pad you wish to delete when recording...
...all this in realtime, you haven't the step edit recording on the 303 (you have it on the sp-505/606...)
cheers
