hello.
would like to ask a quickie.
do you know when a sample is just a little bit short for what you want and you want to strech it a little but you don't want to mess with the bpms because it ruins the sound.
what will you use in a situation like this?
Reverb? some kind of delay? -can you see where I'm trying to get?
help would be very apreciated.
thanks.

Re: Stretch
Well, as most people have noticed, the 404's time stretch feature isn't as great as it is on other samplers. If you want to stretch it, I recommend chopping the sample several times.

Re: Stretch
yeah, i use a nice long decay on a reverb or delay, and then use the 'mark' button to get it to land how i want it to.
the other option is to take yr short sample, chop it (using mark and resample) into two or three parts, and then trigger THOSE in time with the music, thereby manually 'stretching' the sample to fit over the beat.

Re: Stretch
if your chops are longer, like single chords and you want to make the duration longer you can resample to another pad, trigger the og sample and hit reverse just before it ends, gives you a kind of extra tail.

I've never thought of that...nice tip!kel wrote:if your chops are longer, like single chords and you want to make the duration longer you can resample to another pad, trigger the og sample and hit reverse just before it ends, gives you a kind of extra tail.
