 Post subject: how do you backup your samples?

so i've got a 303 full of sounds i like, now how can i store them on a computer? or i have a sp505 and i heard they can read the same files, if i can backup to that.

yo u can also buy a usb device that reads smart media cards and hook it up to your computer! copy all the files from the smart media card to a dir on your computer. then you can delete the info on the card and re-use in your sp to make new beats. when you want to reload the old samples/beats hook the card back up to your computer and copy the files back and its ready. yo just make sure you erase whats on the card before you copy the backup data so its all the same and shit!! 1

yes do as Younghoon says, and i confirm, the sp505/303 share the same files...(never tried this indeed)

if you don't have a card another method some people use is to record your samples into a software audio editor [Audacity, or in my case Logic Express] through your Line In on your computer.
