you can probably tell with mine but i usually just do shit naturally i dont even count bars. unless you mean sequencing? sometimes i dont even do that haha.
haha sorry. umm i usually do four or eight...every once in a while ill come across a 3 bar loop...then i delete it. haha. or ill make a real short beat all sampled on one pad compressed to fuck with a billion effects for fun haha.
Bar is a term from england and measure is used in the U.S., but both are used to describe the same length in a musical composition. I go with 4 or 8 depending on what I'm doing.
i do 2 or 4, sometimes odd numbers, but i usually end up breakin it down to a bunch 1 bar change ups so i can switch between them easily then make my way back to the main loop(s)
Most times I use 4 bars, too. Sometimes I start with 8. Then I do some patterns with other lengths (mostly 1 or 2) for breaks or something like that to throw them in between my main parts.
Sometimes I simply let a longer pattern play but cut it off and switch to anotgher one by pressing both directly after another. You can do some cool changeups with this and don't have to create a new pattern everytime.
