now to my question
in general terms what i want to know is...is there a way i can save my patterns and samples onto a computer and then reload them back to my sp by means of simple rca cables and mini jack converter seeing as how i dont own a computer that lets me directly stick the memory card in..?
if you didnt understand that please let me know and ill try my best to rephrase it....

It's not possible to transmit data to a computer over audio cables. What you can do is get a compact flash card reader for your computer. Such as this...

Just pop your card out of the 404 and into the card reader. Copy the contents of the card to your computer. It is now backed up. When you want to restore it just copy it back on to the card.
I'm sure some dudes will chime in with their specific methods for archiving. BTW there was a thread called "Only One Card" or "One Card Man" or something that addressed this.
