All this kava talk from the purple drank thread inspired me. I just orded an 8 oz instant cocoa thing. hah what sould I expect of this herb?

it's fantastic! very relaxing..i sip kava slowly and enjoy feeling it slide in. i find the state of mind it puts you in is very conducive to music and dance, i really get into tapping out drum patterns, etc. if you keep drinking it you get a bit dreamy, it's great to crash after a solid kava session, it feels wavy like you're lying on a beach

it's good you got the instant stuff, it's much more concentrated. try it with apple juice if water's too bland

it may take you awhile to develop a taste for it, keep trying though :wink:

Yeah sounds great man, ive been reading up and its sounds like a nice mellow high. too bad for my bro cause i heard it dosent go to well with psychotropic meds. an hes drugged up like a horse.

yo coffee drinkers . sorry for comin off harsh sayin coffee is wack, had a cup tonight and a blunt. not too bad . i think when im feindin for weed and try to replace it with coffee, thats when it buggs me out .

I might be able to get kava in Winnipeg. have to search around .

Hey, I just found out that they have some kava at my local health foods store. But the only have the extract or capsules. Should I wait till my powder gets here or give that a shot?

No most of what you read is probably false. The ingredients that cause liver damage are the leaves and stems i believe. in the traditional way of using kava only the roots are used. corporations took all that extra shit (leaves an stems) and threw it in a capsule sold it cause it cost them hardly anything. Those products have been takin off the shelfs. just make sure you buy stuff like the root powder, or anything that is made with mostly kavalactone(ingredient that causes effects).

the extract and capsules don't really provide the full spectrum of the kava experience.

i often have a capsule or two if i'm gonna have a big night on the Instant, to give my system a little nudge beforehand. but capsules/extract don't absorb the same way and you lose a lot of the fullness of the experience

give them a go by all means, but don't expect much!

also, great to see you dispelling the Kava myths with the truth!!
