Hi!

On the german Roland website I've found a brand new update (June 2007) for the SP-404:

http://www.rolandmusik.de/seiten/downlo ... _pu.html#S

Unfortunately, there is no change log.

what it does is that it Updates nur über CF-Karte (PC mit Card-Reader vonnöten). Die Werksdaten (2,15MB) können Sie hier auch herunterladen.

please god let 'herunterladen' mean velocity sensitivity :P

actually thats just instructions about how to patch it not about the update

google translation:

only over CF-map (PC with Card reader necessary). The work data (2,15MB) can also download you here.

As much as I wish it would be velocity sensitive there's no way that could be done in a software update :(

If it had the hardware to do this, it would've from the start

Unfortunately not, "herunterladen" is the german phrase for "downloading" ;-) In fact, there are only informations about the update process, not about the functionality of the update.

Yessir! Akai's support to its customers is downright ridiculous.
