I listened to these tracks on a walk thru Baltimore in the sunny early autumn evening. A few notes:
forfashire - the section beginning at 1:49 is a very satisfying use of the descending synth figure
Chopperman - fun distortion textures. "I'll be your huckleberry and smack you with the sassafras" is a musical use of the word "sassafras" to rival the moment the beat shifts to swing in "Stoned Soul Picnic"
1616 - uneasy lurching dissonance
KUDOS - melody emergent from fragmentation
woe - subtle recontextualization of vocal melody
SLEEPS NUMB - wonderful mix details and use of the stereo field. The section beginning at 2:46 is a moment of complexity beauty and pleasure. This gets my vote
U_F_J_R - fun playful and dense

forfashire - a legitimate offering to the gluttonous 202 gawds. first beat my favorite in the whole battle. genuine neck-snapper. second one messy but I fw it cause consistent with overall feel and ethos of submission. oooh yes the delayed snare and ‘open’ feel of the drums on the last track gives me just enough ‘space.’ the most consistent and coherent entry of the bunch - gets my vote
chopperman - don’t ever change. “it’s something that I must must do”—you speak for us all here. someone get this wordsmith a password manager
woe - the gawd of casual brilliance. great chops; drawing out the pleasures of source material with grace. just a little more 'glue' here and it's ready for the woe debut tape we all need
1616 - one of the hardest beats of the lot for sure. love the promiscuous sample swapping and live, off the cuff feel. real “fw me” energy
sleeps - coming out the gate with the brilliant arthur conley chops reminds me of those dewy uplifting vibes you gave us with the now-canon LEN submissions. the nicest mix as always. I feel if this were cut down 2-3 minutes you might have clinched it; I found my attention wandering a bit and wished certain moments would be extended/others cut down. rough draft for a masterpiece
