My vote went to Chopperman. I liked your drum chop the most and the switch up was dope too. I could see a good ol days type rhyme lacing it. Fun round in all. Glad to see everyone battling it out again. Lets carry this energy to the next round SP brothers!

Lif: nice loop for the melody, sweet bass, cant tel if its subsonic efx or the bass sample. Would liked more variation but otherwise great!

TGN: loved the atmospheric intro, great use of the vocal sample(?). Bass worked really well, liked how it changed up around 54secs in! Loved the drum stutters, was that the djfx looper?

Chopperman: loved how it sounds like you did very little to the samples but how it blends perfectly! Video worked really well, favourite so far!

Isihambi: similar to choppermans beat, preferred the way you used the drums to make it more up beat, nice warbles from vinyl sim(?)

Green dutch:love the lofi crunch, drums had that nice warbley feel from adjusting bpm (?) tough to choose between these last 3

Kel: nice!!! Really enjoyed the main sample cuts not being the main focus but bringing it all together nicely! Vocals worked really well!! Overall great lofi, cassette feel! New favourite so far!!

Blavatsky: like how the drums kept it pushing forward and the little change around 54 secs in worked really well, LOVED that lil drum fill about 1min 5secs in! Nice change up again about 2min 10 secs in! Liked how you had defined ‘parts’!

Voted Kel! All round great beats though!

You are correct, sir! Pinpoint feedback! It just fell right together. Used to be bothered when cats didn't arrange their own drum pattern on these, but I've surrendered that battle. Of battles. Can't help the wordplay. Can't beat the beats of someone that lives drummin the drums

l i f:
chilled trumpet, driving drums! Nice beat!

asha c:
what a vibey dub! How did you make these crazy sfx in the beginning? And hell yeah there goes the ashacizzztortion again! my number one

chopperman:
well done! hoped that someone just take this vocal part for a classic flip, banger!

isihambi:
Wow, what a good, clean mix! you're really good at that! And i like how well alll the samples fit together... lovely, very good one. My number 2

green dutch:
uh yeah, crusty as hell! pure lofi shit. great man!

kel:
unbelievable how you drew this great tune out of the provided samples. Fits so well to mary j's voice. My number 3!

blavatsky:
groovy man, groovy! Having my gf in my mind, twerking to this beat! :D

sp-family, great round! <3

i made my beat on 2 evenings while smoking a lil light homegrown which was great. On the third evening, when i wanted to finish it i had a strong haze j before, switched on the sp and immidately had lost the feeling for the main part. :D suddenly some samples did not fit together anymore, i could not get the vibe from day before back. Had to delete them, so hmph  @asha c, it is the scatter effect on mk2

Thanks TGN! The beginning is the djfx, just using the pitch dial to take it down! The noisey little swells are the same chop with radio tuning effect and then resampled with delay! The distortion thing is becoming a bit of a habit when I dont know what else to do to give it variation but it feels like it needs a crescendo after its been built up! That stutter fx sounds great! Still debating getting the 404 mk2 but gotta clear a few debts first, plus I just love the immediacy of the work flow on the 404og!

Yes, i was used to the og 404, too and the first 2 weeks with the new mk2 were def hard. On one point i really thought of reselling it. But then the muscle memory kicked in and i think i am at least as fast as on the og 404 now. mk2 highly recommended.

Just to ensure that the vote is as spread as evenly as possible, I'll give my vote to
The Green Dutch.

But actually, no - I love that Dutch you got the drum hits mangled into chops and they are warped to hell but still knock (the bassdrum of the Bernard Purdie wasn't particularly clear at the source) and you got a hellish swing on the beat. Using footage of Jordan dunks did NOT affect my vote, but.... it did sweeten the deal!!
