Sp-303 Memory Card Cover Part
Just a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a spare one of these I could buy? Part # is 02451812 , it's the little plastic cover that goes over the memory card slot and protects it. I just copped a like new 303 in the original box and my OCD is bugging out that it's missing this piece.
I hit up Roland, they no longer sell them. I search the net, couldn't find any. So if anybody could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I bought a 505 last year that was in mint condition, only missing the card cover. It took 2-3 months, but one finally popped up on eBay. $23 + shipping. I don't have them with me at the moment, but I'm about 99% sure that the 505 and 303 use the same cover.
Re: Sp-303 Memory Card Cover Part
Nice, thanks for the reply. I'll keep my eyes open for the 505 cover also.
Re: Sp-303 Memory Card Cover Part
2-3 months to find one a year ago. I was selling sp303's for $250 a year ago, now they are selling for $550!
I guess parts are getting rare. Glad I kept a few!

It's retarded, man. The 303 was $349 brand new, when it was still being made. For $550 your likely to get a beat up one with nicotine stained pads and someone's nose hairs hiding under the knobs.Crane wrote:2-3 months to find one a year ago. 303’s are going up, but so is like everything else. I think it’s all this time on everyone’s hands ...if they ain’t knockin boots they is making dope azz beats with that Covid stimmy money.
love thy sampler
Re: Sp-303 Memory Card Cover Part
Yep. Literally every asset weighed against the dollar has been going up in value since they started giving out free $ like candy. I feel like samplers have gone up in value a higher % than most things though, and maybe that's because it's something cool and creative to do for the people that just want to stay inside the house now.

Yeah I was selling 202's for around !125. It's ridiculous. The worst part is is that people that are paying 500-800 for these have no idea of the hack jobs that are on the inside.
I would sell a 202 for $100 disclosing that the headphone jack was ripped off the board, after fixed, from the outside you would never know. That same person that bought it is now probably selling it for $300!
Between 202's and 303's, I have seen a lot of shitty work done on the insides of them.

The Roland SP stonks are on the rise boys!
Yeah I used to be a little envious of guys who were able to cop sp1200’s, mpc3000’s, and other vintage synths for a fraction of what they were but now I guess I’m in a spot with a bunch of “vintage” gear of my time. Seeing the prices of these little boxes are insane. Like some of you guys I got an sp202 for 50 bucks and an sp303 for 150, which was considered overpriced at that time.
Why are mpc500’s 300 bucks? I remember seeing the mpc1000’s selling for 250 usd. I was trying to sell my decked out + modded mpc1000 a few years back but I got no real offers.

They are up around $600-700 now, some still with the old single pad sensors.Bandit Lu wrote:I remember seeing the mpc1000’s selling for 250 usd.
This is just a guess, but I'm betting that Roland is working on a new SP sampler. In the last few years, they have resurrected the MC line, with the MC-101 & MC-707 grooveboxes, then they put out Zen beats on mobile, PC & Mac. Then they resurrected the MV line with the MV-1 Verselab, which is more of a sketchpad/vocal tracker with some sampling capabilities. Now it seems like they are working on Zen beats further, and all the new machines link up with the software, just like what Akai is doing with the new standalone MPC's and software. Next, I'm guessing they are gonna drop a MV-xx workstation or a SP-xx compact sampler. With all the hype that SP samplers have maintained through out the years, it will be money in the bank with whatever they drop with the SP name on it.

Yeah, they better move quick cause this “lofi hip hop beats to study to” is prob on its way out!
It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with. I hope they further develop tools for the resampling work flow and it would be cool to have some effects modeling the sp202 and 303 effects. It would also be nice if they had a more robust looper compared to the 555. I’m thinking someone should developed a way to transfer samples via Bluetooth from your phone to the machine. I’d take that over app integration or any sort of screen.
The draw of the sp series for me was that there was only a simple display for a few settings and it was for the most part pretty minimal. Adding an app integration or any sort of screen would just make me consider using other tools instead.

Same here. It might sound odd, but one of the things that really drew me to the 404 (physically I mean) was the simple LED display it uses. I love those displays.
I also agree with Null Sweat in that anything they release with the SP name on it will be money in the bank for them. I'd love to see them produce something that replaced the 404 and fixed its shortcomings. That said, I can't see me having the patience to hold out much longer. I'm already holding out to see what the Circuit Rhythm brings, and as far as I'm aware, there has been no mention of a new SP (although it does seem feasible they would be working on one).
If they are working on one, I wish they'd hurry-up and at least drop a teaser of it or something.
