resizing images for this site

Post by Chopperman »

I got a request to explain how to shrink images for these forums. I'm guessing most of you know how, and some of you probably don't shrink giant images by choice, but anyways, how I do it is open the file in my paint program (just regular windows paint) and click resize, then select to measure by pixels, then set it to no taller than 600 pixels.

Glad you brought this up!!
Microsoft paint is the go to, for PC users at least.

For the purposes of this site 600px is a good rule of thumb - bigger than that, well, we all scroll regardless of device, so not such a huge deal if larger.

But I think the real clincher is the width of images... 600px is also about the maximum width before the frames get really skewed and we need to start scrolling sideways.

Good tip, Chopperman.
It'd be nicer though if the admin would change the stylesheets so that it will resize the images to fit the forum. But I guess the admin doesn't care much about this site, right?
