SP-404sx for live triggering synth w/pk-5?

Hi,

I am a bass player and i have a roland pk-5 Midi foot controller.

wondering if the 404 sx would be ok for triggering different keyboard sounds (sampled)with a 12 note range. and then change the sounds on the fly live.

Any advice would be appreciated.
