can't quite tell the ins and outs apart. but if you're getting sound from the sp on your computer, and or sounds into the sp from your computer you should have it right. just in case though ((sp))line-out--->focusrite ins. focusrite out--->((sp))line-in.

Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
also. i'm not familiar with the driver name of the focusrite. is that the option for the driver?
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
Yeah I've got the routing set up correctly. I just can't get the audio to come through ableton (it's not showing any volume signals coming in). But yes that is the focusrite driver (don't know the difference between dx and wave).
Like I said before I'm getting the 404 audio to play out of the speakers it's just not going directly through ableton, and the volume is much lower than anything else I play on the computer.

that's the weird part as you said befeore.Daylux wrote: Like I said before I'm getting the 404 audio to play out of the speakers it's just not going directly through ableton, and the volume is much lower than anything else I play on the computer.
have you seen the control pannel? check the audio on it and choose the focusrite as the principal audio, disable the rest. try this.
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
What do you mean by control panel? Like the windows control panel, or the software that came with scarlet?

i mean the first one you said, the Windows oneDaylux wrote:What do you mean by control panel? Like the windows control panel, or the software that came with scarlet?
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
Yeah everything is set up correctly in the my control panel settings. I'm starting to think it has to do the Focuslite software.

Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
see where it says driver type in your Ableton panel, scroll down and see if it has either Scarlett or ASIO drivers and select one of them
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
Okay so I did this and I'm finally seeing an audio signal but it's very small, and the volume is still a lot lower than anything else I play off my pc, (such as music or youtube videos, etc.) Weird thing is I even have the sp 404's output volume amped up in the mixcontrol... And the only way I can get the signal to come into ableton is by hitting the pad with a kick drum on it, anything else I play won't show a signal.ZipSnipe wrote:see where it says driver type in your Ableton panel, scroll down and see if it has either Scarlett or ASIO drivers and select one of them

Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
maybechoose the right in on ableton (in the "audio from" tab on the channel)...who knows...
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
Damn... This is frustrating
Is there anybody on this forum that has the same audio interface? I'm gonna contact their support team and see if that helps. I'm thinking maybe it's the cables/routing...

Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
so your audio going into your interface a lot of times will be much lower than audio from your computer because it hasn't been super processed, there's no stereo spread, etc. it is also essentially compressing your analog signal into a digital signal which loses gain. that's not true with all things, but in this case it may be. Also how is the output gain on your samples inside the sp? in this case you're going to need to learn a little in ableton (compressors and whatnot to get the volume to the level you want.)
Re: Sending out audio into DAW?

follow this tutorial.... focus at the 1:20 mark of this video.--->https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/get ... interface/

Re: Sending out audio into DAW?
try changing Ableton's input monitoring to "In" ..I think "Auto" picks it up if its above a certain db. Possibly why your kick is the only thing getting across to Ableton?
Not entirely sure if its the case tho, hope you get that figured out g
