i notice when i sample in whole songs from xbox music,soundcloud or you tube it peaks and makes the song skip. ive tried lowering the levels both on the sp and the program it comes out quiet and still peaks.please help.

If it's peaking on input, you'll see the red LED on the top right flash. Turn down the volume on whatever you got plugged into the system until it doesn't flash at all.

Next, listen to the input by pushing EXT SOURCE button to turn it on and look at the center screen and hit REC. If center screen is flashing red, then push the CANCEL button and then push START/END/LEVEL and adjust knob 3. Push START/END/CANCEL again. If center screen is still flashing, you can adjust knob 3 here too, but likely you'll get better results by doing the following, after you CANCEL out of REC.

This next part works on 404SX (someone with OG can confirm and give instructions to do this?).

Hold FUNC and push pad 11, which brings you to Input Gain menu and turn it down. Hit REC to confirm setting. Try recording your input again.

If you still get skipping, your card may not have read/write speed you need and should try another card.
