sp 202 TIMESTRETCH

Post by Runme_Raw »

Yo Sup guys!

Yesterday i got my SP 202 :D , with the 4mb smart media card.
When i sampled sum to my C/D Bank (CARD), it doesn't timestretch!!!
and it doesn't do the delay function too!!!!
is it normal that this function doesn't work when sample to the card?
It works when i sample to my intern bank , i don't get it.

Can someone please tell me how this works.

thnx alot!

Yes it is normal- you cannot stretch samples on the card- it is right in the owners manual p32 under Time Stretch from the index:

Thnx alot Om_Audio.
the guy who sold me this wonderfull SP gave me two books : 1 USA and
1 Dutch version. both versions look different inside.
i have only read the dutch version. Now i see page 32 of the USA version

i gues it's the same with the ''delay'' button.
Because i'm new to this SP , i thought the guy gave me sum defect gear and got a lil panic.Glad it turns out to be normal.

Right on, I'm sure the Dutch version has an index though with Time Stretch listed too. ;)

another question fam...

Are there more reasons why it doesn't timestretch?

because i used all the 3 reasons from page 32 , like you told me.
But still 1 sample wont work , is this because it is too short or sum ?

I still don't have a memory card, and I'm brand new to 202 live beatz style.
but I really like the real pitch on it. One thing i notice for the pitch on internal banks is. When you use pitch, it pitches all the sounds, this makes me a sad ,I can deal with it. this logic is still a little bit confusing to me because I'm so used to the way 303 and 404 FX are applied to different sample pads.

Also you cannot play 2 mono samples on the internal if 1 has ring mod and one has time stretch. Kinda weird, I guess ill bounce to the 606 if I have to, I'm digging the sound,

I had a 202 a very long time ago , I used for loops only, so i didn't worry about digging deep into the parameters and limits of the machine.

cool!!!
