Started making visual glitches & gifs a little while ago. It's mostly datamoshing & wordpad glitch stuff, nothing too fancy. Just thought it was time to start sharing them. Gonna start saving a bunch of them on this tumblr site.

Make what you will of these, just sharing in case there's someone else here who gives a shit about this kind of stuff. Hope this page doesn't take too long to load.

@Ellaguru: You're right mate, these ones don't use the Wordpad glitch (reads like you've messed with it before). The two below are Wordpads, taken from the same file opened in different programs.

@Wax: Whoah, that's a hell of an interpretation there! The source footage was of a couple walking out of the ocean, shot from a huge distance at a really low angle. The movement came from rearranging & repeating certain frames.

@Chickadee: Thanks for linking that video, hadn't seen it before. This one's NUTS. Love it! Really complex set of techniques used there, but it's mostly based on datamoshing. To be honest I can't tell you exactly how they made this one, there's so much happening in it. But it looks like each of the glitches used were intentional. Check this Chairlift video, it's almost all datamoshed.

These are beautiful! I remember experimenting with databending videos and pictures once, but I never got around databending gifs. Is that what you've done or were they images made into a gif after being glitched?

my first datamoshed video; datamosh create shift so it isn't not easy to put sound in...
I find it hard to use it.

@Strangev: The gifs are mostly made from screenshots of Youtube/Vimeo. For instance the one below is from a bunch of screenshots, some frames were glitched & then the order of frames was set so it loops unevenly. Have you shared any of your stuff online?

@Chickadee: Can you re-link you video? It 404s on me & not in a good 404 way.
