PA System for Live Shows

Hey, all

I was wondering if I could some advice from anyone who does live shows with their music. I'd like to start performing at small venues and am considering getting a PA system. I'd like to have something that I could use a number of different ways and wouldn't just be throwing money out the window on something because its cheap and I wanted to have something now.

I saw a Fender Passport PA model PD250 for a fairly cheap price and was wondering if a system like this is worth it and what I could expect. Does anyone have any experience with them?

i made some live shows but everytime it was some friends or the local bar/gallery wich gave me the system...

This really depends on how big the venues are. As long as you're doing small rooms, the smaller PA's will be fine (keep in mind that a small room completely filled with people is a different problem, and would require a bigger PA).

I have heard good things about the Fender systems, but I have never heard one. MY guess is that there is a limit to the size of the room it can handle, so keep that in mind.

If you look around, there are plenty of PA systems at all sorts of sizes and prices, so portability is another issue. If you don't want to buy a dolly, and maybe a van or pickup truck, you should stay small! But if the need to cover larger rooms is more critical, well - you get the idea.
