Use the Change command- manual, chapter 3 , pp 28, "Exchanging Pad Assignments"

Instead of selecting a destination pad that has a sample in it (blinking) you can select an empty pad (no light) and copy it there.

If you want to copy(duplicate) a sample, use "resample+record". This will copy the sample to another pad. Also, it's a great way to add an effect(permanently) to a sample.

word, thats how I do. They say that you lose a little sound quality each time you resample. I never noticed any loss of sound quality though-

One day I gotta test this out, I'm gonna resample some shit thru the whole pad bank and compare the original to the 11th generation.

i do notice it a little. anyway that would be resampling a copy and i find that troublesome for getting a perfect loop copied but it's the only way to layer effects. to copy a sample use the youtube site, to resample do what brazil and juxt said.
