Well I got the pattern->midi batch convertor working for the SX. I need to compile it for windows tho, cos right now it's mac only. I need to add 404 support too. Also started working on a program to convert the samples to 44.1/16bit with roland headers. Also I'm considering trying to write a midi->pattern covnerter too, but it's a little bit more complicated to write. Def steadily working on it.

Awesome!! This would help me tons!! I should be able to easily program mashed-Amen midi patterns in a daw and import into the SX to go.

Awesome- hope you are able to accomplish all your goals. I'm getting an SX to replace my orig 404 this week and having a utility to make it easier to work with would be hugely appreciated! If it comes to fruition be sure to provide a way to donate loot to the cause- I'd certainly be willing to contribute. I'm just looking forward to being able to load samples with the software and copy/move with easy to find LABELED keys on the SX. BTW- do the samples have to be named sequentially for the loader software or can you choose any 44.1/16 file and get on with the show?

Hey all, just messed with the pad bank data file format and realized that the missing byte might be the AIF / WAV flag. Probably you figured it out already, but didn't see it here documented.

Hey guys, I just hacked together a little application.
I hope I can get an alpha release together in the weekend.
So far I got a raw visual sample preview, sample playback, looping (Ableton style), pad banks etc.
It runs on Adobe AIR (Flash for desktop) so it's kinda cross-platform, so far it's working nicely.

Following features are in the works:
- organizer for full bank swaps
- drag and drop support with multiple samples
- track chopping for easier live performance preparation

I don't want to get too complex and release as early as possible.

amazing. I love it when a proprietry system gets opened up and us poor tech consumers get extras the manufacturers were too greedy to supply.

I own a 555 so could help making your app compatible with this (in a non programming way!)

Currently I only got the SX at hand.
My friends have the 404 and 505 though so probably we will investigate those formats too.

I will set up a blog for the project in the weekend so people can follow the updates.

I'll keep you updated about the progress.
