Here's the error I'm getting

Your soundcard may already be in use by another application or the system sounds or you may need to adjust a setting on the sound cards panel

Seems like you got the SP connected to a soundcard on your computer. Disconnect the soundcard and connect the SP directly to your computer. With two soundcards is like trying to read a newspaper from the building across the street with binoculars, your computer just can't do it.

SP-606 is a soundcard.

Either what Green said, or you'll have to close any application that is using the SP-606 as its sound card.

For example if you've previously set the SP-606 to work as your sound card in Windows (so you can sample ANYTHING that's playing on your computer, games, DVDs, music etc.), then you'll have to set it back to your PC's sound card whenever you want to use your SP-606 together with the P606 software.

Sometimes this is true with other DAWs as well if I recall correctly. Hope this helps.
