I'm having difficulties exporting sounds from a pad to my PC via USB.

Do the CARD UTIL/FILE EXPORT.

Mount memory card using USB.

Can see the files (either WAV or AIFF) on the card in My Computer.

Try to play or dump sounds onto computer. File is in an unrecognised format.

Have tried using a variety of WAV editors/players. No dice, files still corrupted.

Have no problem dumping WAVs from my PC onto the card and importing them into SP.

Am wondering whether the issue could be related to using the SP as a soundcard. I generally use it as the primary sound device.

I can always resample via USB, but i know that the 606 has the capability to drag and drop, yet i seem to be getting no love.

Any suggestions?

Moments after making this post my memory card displayed as 'corrupt'.

Have lost quite a bit of data.

Ah well. I've reformatted and hopefully data transfer will be smooth from here on.

I experienced a power failure earlier in the week while using the SP. This might explain why my card data became corrupt, and was having difficulty with USB transfer.

Back up your data!

Yeah, the 606 is very sensitive to sudden loss of power - that's why it has to be 'shut down' before powering off. It's a problem; but understandable if you think about how the machine works....as the compact flash is actually accessed by the machine as if it were RAM, it suffers in the same way as RAM if power is suddenly removed..
