Hi There.

I recently purchased a 606 and am having major trouble trying to get the Mac Book to see it as a midi device. It recognizes it a an audio interface but it does not appear in the midi setup as it is supposed to.

After installing it I get a wierd message, something about "boot cache" before the computer restarts? This could have something to do with it but I'm not sure. I have tried both the drivers on the disk and ones of the internet.

If anybody has any help it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not really sure about the cache error. Type the guts of the error into a search engine.

Can you see the 606 it in your System Preferences under other?

What program are you using that can't see it as a midi device?

Have you tried another program to see if it sees the midi messages?

Have you tried to mess with the settings under Func + 11? (midi utility)

If you are trying to use as a drum controller for a program, you would have to push the ext button to put in in exteral control mode then press Func+5 (note trigger) to send the messages to da app.

The 606 was a pain in the arse to get working with my mac, but I can't really remember what I did. Wish I could help more, but please give us some more details.

Perhaps Macs have the 'maximum amount of USB devices reached' kind of issue Windows users can run into as well? In that case, you'll need to free up some driver space in the registry of your Mac, but I can't help you out as far as specifics go as I do not own a Mac.

Thanks I'll give that a try.
The Mac only sees the 606 as an audio device but not as a midi controller. It does not appear in preferences and there for it is not recognised in both Logic and garage band as a midi device.

It's a bit frustrating as this is the third piece of equipment I am struggling to get working on Mac.

Thanks
