I just got logic express 8 and I am having trouble controlling it from my 606. I can get logic to send the play/stop/back command to the 606 when I push them on the software, but I can't seem to get it to go the other way. I have updated my logic software to the most recent version. Still no dice.

As a second option, I could use my axiom's transport controls, but I am having a hard time getting that setup also.

Can anyone provide any assistance or direction? Thank you in advance for your help.

I have figured something out.

I have mapped my transport controls (play, record, stop etc) on my axiom within logic. In logic, I set it up to transmit data to my 606. In the midi settings on my 606, I have set it as slave. Now I can push play/stop/back on my axiom and everything is in sync.

Originally I would have liked to have used the 606's transport controls, but this should work for me. One of the only transport controls I could get logic to see was the "rewind to beginning" button on the 606.

Anyway if anyone wants further detail on how I did this, I will be more than happy to assist, just reply to this topic. I am off to play with my new toy.

Yea, I have used the transport controls from the 606 in reason 3 before with no hitches. I just cannot figure out why logic only see's the back to beginning button on the 606.

Anyway, I am starting to like using the axioms transport buttons. As long as everything is synced up and I don't have to push play/stop/record from my computer, its all good.

niq names: have you got the transport controls on the 606 to work with Reason? I haven't been able to get it to happen at all. Everything else works great, but the transport doesn't seem to wanna play nice.

DeeJayCtr: If you could find the time to post a new thread with details on how you got logic to work with the 606, you will help many people, I'm sure!

yeah ive done it plenty of times...

1. make sure your sp is set to INT in the midi util section. (should be standard config anyway.

@ go to advanced control in reason and set one of your external control bus' to roland sp 606

3. go to midi clock sync and select roland sp 606

4. go to OPTIONS go to sync and set it to MIDI CLOCK instead of INT

if all is done correctly the tempo for REASON should zero out then just press play on your sp and watch those numbers roll! :D

its pretty sweet and for some reason feels better too... hope it works for you peace...

oh shyt i use a pc but as long as you know how to access the options on a mac you should be straight...peace

edit: i forgot. although this will work what wont work is the transport controls when using this as an actuall controller. when im using this set up its with my axiom 25 with the sp set up as the sound card. if ur doing some live shyt then this set up would be ideal if u got a sequence set up in reason along with a pattern on the sp.
