I'm working on a pattern and it is currently at 16 measures. I only want it to be 8 now, but it won't let me turn it down. What am I supposed to do?

yeah, on the 404 you can add bars whenever but you cant take em away once you recorded something.

It's very common for sequencers to work like this, they lock the measures when something got recorded. It's better that way too in my opinion. I usually do a test run first, check if the measures are alright and then record. Downside is that it's more difficult to capture great jams because you have to do them twice in a row, but once you got started it usually ain't so bad.

The only way is to go back in time and make it 8 to begin with.
As far as I know there is no way to decrease bar # after you've created a pattern. No biggie.

Have you try to set up a rec a track then in the rec ready mode it will let you select the Quantize, Measures.. can you just turn the measures to 8 then hit record, but don't touch anything it should just repeat itself to the 8 measures...

Or what you can do it transfer to your PC then chop it to 8 measures then send it back to your SP
