606 has it... it is pad 16 and u can turn it on and off...so it can either be used to repeat the last pad played... or be used the same way as any other pad to store a sample

is this what u mean?

im not sure...hmmm...note repeat on the mpc is kind of for fills..like you have a one-shot snare which goes 'bap' and you hit the pad and note repeat and it'll go 'bapbapbapbapbap'...
sorry for the kindergarten explanation...hope this makes sense...but if the 606 has it, i think im buying one for sure...and also are the pads really that different on a 606 than a 404? i have a 404 and really dont like the pads they suck for sequencing imo...

dont sleep on 555, cuz it also got note repeat ( "ROLL" ) function.
dunno how does it work in mp but in 555 you need to hold roll pad and the desired sample pad.

however if you're more into classic boom bap hip hop then 606 is better for you.

peace

The 606 got that mpc feel because of the pad design, but SPs are easy to get along with and you don't have to load and save samples for every project. You just sample it, make a beat, and if you run out of ideas you just simply sample some more new ish and make a new beat until new ideas are birthed for the last beat.
