can u do manual chops in the sp 505. also how do you make one channnel cut off the next one like you would on the mpc .

1) Yes you can do manual chops and I might say the chop implementation is even somewhere better than 2000xl.

2) You mean like hihat cutoff, if you mean this then - no 505 does not have this feature although you can set sample to gate triggering mode and manually set the length of the hihat that needs to be cut off by other sample(-s) - but this is like a cheat anyway.

olby if i use gate to do my cut offs will the sound overlap in to the next sound or will it finish just as i hit the pad for the next sound. also is there a way to get more out of the 4 track sequncer the 505 comes with like could i bounce down the sounds to one part after ive used up all four parts.before i forget your tutorials were dope jus saw them on youtube.

No you cant do any fancy stuff with the 4-part sequencer. If you are into hip-hop then it is enough - at least for me it is.

As I said with the gate triggering mode you will have to specify manually when the sample will stop sounding.

505 does not have auto sample (sample group) cut off.
