First post here... I've scoured the net, but I just can't find the info I'm looking for. I've read that you're able to just put these types of files right on the SmartMedia Card, and I was sure that I read about it in the manual (how to name files, and organize them, etc.) But I just can't find anything about this, and it's pretty annoying.

Does anyone have any experience doing this sort of thing?

When I looked at the files on my computer, there's a Roland folder, and tons of .spo files inside of them. So I don't know where to place my samples I have on my computer that are .wav files...

Any help?

I know this is an old post, but just in case anyone ever comes looking for this info, I'll answer.

You just drag the files from the folder in your comp right onto the card. Don't put them in the folder on the card. If the files have names longer than 8 characters (I think it's then they will be shortened, but it's ok.

Then you put the card in the 505, hit [system], card(F3), load(F2), file(F3), then scroll through the files you have on the card and pick the one you want, then hit cursor down to pick the bank/pad where you want to put it.
