i am a brand new 505 user, after much debating i decided this would be the best companion for my mpc 2000... can i sample directly to the smart media card say if i wanted to get a full beat on the machine?.. im assuming you cant as the manual says nothing about this

thanks in advance

10 years later and this thread made me scratch my head and discover:

1- you CAN use the SD card for samples on the pads (ie there ARE "card banks")
2- the ONLY way to access card banks is via the Pad Bank button/menu and scroll down- there are no short cuts via the pads like there are for pitch/chop/internal banks. Big mistake on Roland's part IMO.

way cool- I guess I was so used to the card bank buttons on the other models I never sorted it out. Thx.
