I just got an sp-606 and I love it! Everything about this machine is great. The 45 effects,16 pads, and editing window makes this sampler my new work horse. Why did Roland deviate from this design. This is the closet thing they have to an mpc but it's ten times easier to use. I have both the sp 505 and now the 606 and haven't noticed great differences besides the pad layout, d-beam and sequencing. Are there any differences that would make me want to keep the 505? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

pattern resample to the a pad! dont get rid of your 505 because you could do a ton more with both. i wish i had a second sampler right now to bounce back and forth on. make a pattern on the 606 record it into the 505 and bounce it back into the 606 only onto one pad. with the 505 you could pitch your stuff too..

i had the 606.
i sold it and i took the 505 because it has the pitch (shift) scale and a more complete sample editing (the markers on autochop).
by the way i miss the 2fx simultaneously and the very nice sensitive pads on the 606...
my 2 euro opinon, guys.

I wish Roland would make a new SP where the 404 and the 606 had a baby. I'm not sure if the SP 555 is supposed to be that result. The 555 dosen't have that edit screen I dig.

the 555 is definitly not the 606 and 404 baby. its like a 404 plus 4 pads and a loop capture. kinda funny that you'd think each new sampler is an improvement but its not. why even make a new machine if your not going to improve it greatly. thats what im starting to get from roland, kinda hard to think that they make machines for the producer and not for the money when they have so many samplers and they all need workarounds to do simple things. i cant stand workarounds, fucks up the workflow. but i hear those mv's are the best im working on gettin one right now, just sold my 555 on ebay.

I would have to vouch for the sp 555 , trust me being a user of the 404 for like two years the triple5 is by far a huge improvement, when i have more time i can break down the reasons but stop hating just because it wasnt the machine for you...lord beatjitsu makes ill ass beats on a 202 , I think if you put a little elbow grease in you could make a joint on the 555, which in my opinion has a great workflow with the extra copy functions and interface capabilities

btw sorry for the thread jack carry on
