Hey guys, I know the mpc/sp combo has been discussed on here before.. so I'm sorry to bring it up again.

I've searched and tried to read some of the threads on midi and stuff, but I'm not exactly the sharpest when it comes to this stuff. I was just wondering if via midi there was any way to play a sound on my sp and have it sequence right away into the mpc? I think that makes sense anyway. Let me know if it is or isnt possible, or if theres a thread somewhere that I've missed.

Thanks a lot guys,
Johnny

Midi out from MPC to midi in on the SP. Set the SP to "midi - auto " and select the channel you want it to start receiving (check manual). You will also have to find the proper OCTAVE the SP is on via the MPC. I use my 404 on channel 1 and 2 (the 404 only allows you to access 2 banks on 2 midi channels). You will have to sequence and use the pads on the MPC, but that's basically all there is to it. I'm sure the 303 is very similar. I've midi'd my SP with my Roland Groovebox, Korg Electribe and now Yamaha QY.
